Car

I am going to buy a car, finally! I have longed so much to buy myself a really decent ride, but I haven’t had the money for it until now. The car I am going for is a Mercedes. Buying that brand you can count on getting something that is safe, functional and elegant.
The reason to why I am doing the purchase now is actually two reasons.
1) I have won a fairly large sum of money on poker… three times. I used to find poker to be boring, but now I thank my lucky star that my interest for it grew so that I could pick up these winnings.
2) I have purchased a summer cottage, which I am very tired of travelling to by train and bus. Not only is it more expensive, but it also takes much more time that way.
I hate waiting for different kind of transports, looking at time tables and being out in the cold just because the bus is late. Now that I will have a car I will be able to get from door to door without having to look at one time table or freezing for a moment. Also, the only thing that will cost me any money is the gas, since the parking is free.
No more travelling on trains with their bad service, disgusting food assortment and that smell of garbage.
As a matter of fact, one of my pals already owns the kind of car that I am intending on buying. He loves it and has never experienced any trouble with it, and that is good enough for me. I know that the ride is both comfortable and fast. I won’t have the same colour as he though, that would look a bit silly. He is driving a blue Mercedes and I will be driving a black if nothing unexpected happens. Black is both handsome and low-key at the same time.
I am so happy that I won those money, and considering how well I have been doing on poker lately, I don’t think that it is impossible that I will keep winning. And even if I don’t, I still enjoy playing it a lot, both IRL and online.
But for the moment all I care about is that car, and how great it is that it soon will be mine!

Various Ways To Play Casino Games
09.02.08 (3:45 am) [edit]

If you are new to gaming entertainment, you may not know how vast the casino game industry really is. When you think of casino games, a smoke filled Las Vegas casino might come to mind. However, this is not always the case. The taboo once associated with casino games and casinos in general has undergone an image makeover in recent years. What was once thought of as a Mafia controlled vice has now reached the mainstream with a huge growth in players of all ages. The internet, casinos, sports bars and homes are just a few places where casino games are now played. Many casino game titles are available on home videogame consoles like Wii, Xbox Live and Play Stations. This takes the actual money betting out of the game while offering the same thrill traditional casino playing can offer. For some, this is the closest they will ever get to a real casino. Some prefer the electronic method of playing to alleviate the pressure of losing money. Others enjoy the competition and sport of playing against others. Whatever the case may be the casino game market provides many different forms of playing for the gaming enthusiast.
Casino board games are usually miniaturized version of same games found at casinos. In addition to being a good way to practice and learn the game, it is also family orientated. Some popular casino games are baccarat, bingo, blackjack, craps, poker, roulette, slots, Texas Holdem and electronic poker. Most games utilize cards, dice and/or balls during play. Craps for instance is solely dice based while bingo on the other hand is played using numbered cards. In each case, luck based on numbers is how you will ultimately win. Personal computer casino game software is readily available at most electronics stores or online. Free flash versions can be found at many arcade web sites on the internet also. These forms are strictly for entertainment purposes and are played just for sport. You can find many exclusive casino games online that developers create around various pre existing casino games. The actual game layout may have a unique design but the rules of playing are typically the same.
Online casinos are by far the closet you can get to being in an actual casino without being there. The same games are played, you are playing against other players and real money is a stake. This has led to greater amounts of people staying at home instead of making the trip down to their nearest casino. Laws, rules and regulations differ from country to country for internet casino companies. Korean regulators are trying to limit online gaming by placing money limits on users. The House Financial Services Committee recently tried unsuccessfully to require federal regulations on internet casinos. There is still a lot of controversy over online casinos in part due to con artist. If you want to join a good casino game site that deals with money, it is very important to do a little bit of research first. Since we are talking about money, often time’s huge amounts of money, there can be financial problems if you don’t. Imagine your bank account being overdrawn because you didn’t read the fine print at the online casino site you joined. This type of thing has happened too many in the past for the simple fact that they didn’t bother to read the terms of service (TOS).

New apartment
09.02.08 (3:41 am) [edit]

I recently moved into a new apartment and all I can think of is interior design. I don’t know how many times I have gone to IKEA to look at carpets, curtains, plants, chairs and tables. In my previous apartment, I haven’t been remotely as concerned about how they looked. Interior design hasn’t interested me at all, but now I at least have started cleaning and keeping it fairly tidy. Like keeping the windows clear and vacuuming from time to time…
The only problem with my new hobby is that interior design is a bit expensive. Luckily I recently won a large sum of money playing poker. I haven’t been playing poker for too long, but I really like the game. It was my boyfriend who introduced me to poker, but I can’t seem to get him as interested in interior design… Anyway, I am happy that he made me play poker, since otherwise I wouldn’t have won and gotten all this money to spend on my home.
I keep finding things that I love. My latest object of affection is a wonderful mirror that looks like a window. It is a shabby frame made out of wood, but it has four mirror windows in it. I have put it next to my other wooden furniture and it really looks nice. The different kinds of wood work really well together. The hard part now is to keep decorating so that I still have contrast. For example, I don’t want to invest in more antique things. I want to have modern technique and practical stuff from IKEA as well. The dream would be to have my own poker table, but I don’t think it would look to elegant in this small apartment of mine.
But smaller tables, nice little armchairs and lots of space for my books – now that’s something.
My birthday is coming up and I have wished for a gift card from a decorating store. There is one just in the neighbourhood that I peek into every time I pass. If I don’t get a gift card I’ll just spend more of the poker winnings. I feel that this project is worth investing in.
I really look forward to getting this home together – few things are as important as having a home that you love spending your time in!

Poker
09.02.08 (3:29 am) [edit]
|
There used to be a time when it was a slim crowd that knew of, and played, poker. The game was played with fewer cards and simpler rules, but it was still poker and I want to take the opportunity to give the story of poker a little light.
Today pretty much everyone knows what poker is and you rarely meet someone that hasn’t played it. You can find poker in all countries, in all ages and all classes of society. It is on the Internet, on TV and to make a living out of your poker playing is for many people no longer just a dream.
The card game has supporters everywhere. That is also clear when you look at the average poker player; he will be well educated in strategies, rules, techniques and terminology. Poker has its own slang, a language that might take years to learn fully but still is a very fun register of expressions, comparisons and phrases.
But not everyone is happy about the fast development of the poker culture. There are many parents concerned about their children’s gambling and there are people that suggest that poker is a hazardous entrance to a world of bad business. It is true that if you can’t control your gambling then you risk winding up in dept, maybe even to the wrong people.
I advise for each end every poker player to stay updated with what is happening in the poker society, both online and IRL. There are many way to study it; like reading poker magazines, blogs about poker, forums. There are even radio stations that have poker as their speciality! Here you can read about what to do and what not to do, who is performing bad or good, what is happening where…
Naturally, since the Internet entered the picture a lot of things have changed in the business. Since that makes poker even more accessible poker have gone down the ages quite a lot. Actually a couple of the best players in the world are just teenagers. Hopefully this is inspiring and not off-putting to older poker players.
I think that the most important thing to be successful is to remember to enjoy the game, and not just do it for the money or the glory of winning. It is hard to improve your game if you don’t enjoy it.
